Up Close and Personal
with El Rey
Widely known in the U.S., Mexico, and
Central America, El Rey is taking the world by storm! El
Rey, known as "The King" of peppers is a widely adapted,
mid-early, high yielding jalapeno pepper, suited for
either the fresh market or for processing. On a recent
promotional tour, El Rey was spotted producing a heavy
load of large, pungent, thick walled fruit on a compact
plant. El Rey is one hot pepper. "He's really spicy!"
said one Mexican Food lover. Insiders asked him why he's
so popular in major pepper producing areas. "It's got to
be my excellent yield of dark green fruit and the fact
that I have only limited stress purpling". "I'm
especially popular where Bacterial spot is a problem",
said El Rey. For those of you who don't already know, El
Rey is resistant to Races 1, 2, and 3 of bacterial spot.
El Rey is currently touring in the Northeast, Midwestern
U.S. and in Canada. Look for El Rey in your area soon.
