Refurbished Saran House Made Ready for Bed Preparation

An ancient oak, festooned with Spanish moss, that bromeliad so indicative of the old South, frames the saran house that has served this research center for so many years. The saran house is divided into "bays".  This is one being "rotovated" in preparation for fumigation and bedding. The saran house, bedded up and growing impatiens and begonias for the spring 2003 trials.

A beautiful crop of vinca transplants (~50 cultivars) have been hardened off in full sun, and are now ready to be planted a field that will not be sprayed with pesticide, and a field that will be scouted for pests and spayed on demand.
