A rainbow marks the end of a stormy day at the old Gulf Coast Research & Education Center in Bradenton. Temperature and rainfall work together in this important agricultural region to promote good growth all year; however, this is also a good place for pests to thrive. Here, we find out which seed propagated bedding plants are best suited for central Florida's landscapes, when exposed to pests and the affects of our climate. Our climate is similar to other regions of the world that are important markets for bedding plants. Therefore, our evaluations may also be applied by seed companies to these areas. |
